Disposition:
Rebellious Spirit: Though seemingly quiet and well-mannered in public, Akira has a very strong inner spirit that rebels against the ills of society. He has contempt for those who use their power to abuse others and those who would try to force him into line. Instead, he trusts his own heart and his own sense of justice, regardless of potential backlash. However, he does not rebel against society for nothing; he's influenced by a very strong, personal moral code, which pushes him to fight to help others rather than for his own gain; his Persona first awakens because he is trying to save a boy he just met. Akira sees himself as just someone who does the right thing, rather than a revolutionary, but it's clear that this attitude has an impact on those around him, earning him respect, and enemies.
Bonding with Others: Strong bonds are everything to Akira. He's is always ready to listen to someone's problems, from his best friends to complete strangers. He's good at connecting with others, and making them feel safe to talk to him, able to get personal details out of people soon after meeting them. He's perceptive, and can see when things are bothering them, though he's a little nosy about getting to the bottom of a problem. He does this because he wants to help, and sometimes all someone needs is to be able to talk it out. Or sometimes, he can go and do something about it himself. Even before he is told that developing bonds will help him grow his Persona, Akira reaches out to people like Ryuji for companionship, always seeking to be close to people, physically and emotionally. He seems restless when alone, such as in his first few days in Tokyo or after Morgana disappears for a time, clearly unhappy with too much time to himself, instead filling his days with outings with friends and meetings with confidants.
A Leader: Akira falls into the leadership role among the Phantom Thieves naturally, though the members at the time all agree to it. Akira's strong moral code and penchant for developing deep bonds with others inspires people to follow him, even into sometimes dangerous situations. However, Akira does not abuse his power over others, and takes responsibility for the things the Phantom Thieves get into. When it is clear that one of them will be arrested, he naturally takes the fall, and does everything in his power to keep his teammates safe. He listens to different viewpoints before coming to a decision, and tries to keep the Phantom Thieves on the right path, both one that will achieve their goals and satisfy them personally. Though he often teases his teammates and can be a bit of a goof at times, he cares deeply for them and takes his role very seriously.
Reckless: When it comes to himself, Akira doesn't always consider the consequences of his actions before taking them. His moral code pushes him to help people, and if that means getting arrested for assault, or refusing to reveal the identities of his allies and getting tortured, or even trying to befriend his attempted murderer, Akira is willing to do it. He also has a tendency (as Joker, particularly) toward the physically flashy, making risky moves that look cool (in his opinion) but that have the potential to put himself in more danger (like jumping out a window on the second floor, for example). When his inhibitions are lowered, he can act like he's invincible - forgetting that he is a vulnerable human teenager.
Secretive: Though Akira is a good listener when it comes to other people's problems, he's not so good at sharing about himself. Akira will even actively lie, or hide the truth from others, if he thinks it will make them feel better and not worry about him. Akira isn't one to ask for help when he needs it, and instead tries to handle things on his own. Though he would never keep his friends and allies in the dark on things related to the Phantom Thieves, there are many things about himself he tries to keep secret until they're forced to come out. For example, in the original timeline, Akira agrees to go to jail as part of a deal with Sae to capture Shido, and chooses not to tell his friends, instead choosing to have a nice Christmas Eve and let them believe that they will have Christmas Day together because he does not want to upset them.
Under pressure: In canon, Akira is primarily motivated by his deep inner sense of justice, a desire to help the weak and abused, even if it means breaking the law to do it. This is not something that is location dependent, and Akira will be just as motivated to help people in Sumarlok as he is in Tokyo. Furthermore, he is used to growing close with people to strengthen his Personas, and while there is no Velvet Room in Noctium, Akira is conscious of how forming bonds with others makes him stronger in all kinds of ways - friends can teach him new skills, and having connections high and low is always useful. When he learns that forming bonds and engaging in intimacy is expected of him, he'll adjust easily - it's par for the course with him at this point!
The biggest change for Akira will be the lack of the Phantom Thief infrastructure he's been building the last year (the website, the Phantom Thieves' general fame). Akira derived a large part of his identity out of being the leader of the Phantom Thieves as well as a Trickster - it made him someone special. He'll likely attach to the concept of being gembonded to fill this gap.
Condition upon arrival: Physically Akira is perfectly healthy! He did recently learn that his rival/friend is actually a projection that will disappear after he breaks free from the fake reality he's been living in for the last month, and that's kind of a bummer, but he's fine!
Abilities: Akira is a Persona user, meaning he can summon powerful creatures called Personas from within his soul to fight for him. These Personas can use both magical attacks and physical attacks, as well as heal others and grant various buffs (or de-buffs). More than that, Akira is a wildcard, or a Trickster, which gives him the ability to summon many different Personas. At his current canonpoint, Akira is allowed to carry 12 Personas, though for my own sanity I've picked 11, one for each of the arcana of the Phantom Thieves (including himself) and Maruki. I've listed them with their movesets below.

Akira can't use all of these abilities at once; he has to actively switch between Personas, and then he can only use the skills available to them. Switching between Personas has a short cool down period before Akira can do it again. Additionally, using his Personas causes Akira to grow tired over time, and eventually he will become too exhausted to continue fighting with them. (This is true even without the Manna system in Noctium, but that will just compound this effect, meaning he'll have to rest and build up Manna before he can use Personas again.)
I'm willing to change any of these if needed!
In addition to Akira's Personas, being a Trickster also gives him the power of the Third Eye, which gives him enhanced perception in the following ways:
- The ability to see if a person or creature is relatively strong or weak compared to himself.
- The ability to see places he could climb on or crawl into.
- The ability to see in the dark (short range, about a 5-10 foot radius around him).
- The ability to see if something has treasure in it (for the purposes of RP, it shows him if there is something inside a container, like a box). It does not show him the actual contents, however.
Inventory:
Akira has an over the shoulder bag containing:
- various school supplies (notebooks, pens, etc)
- a few vending machine drinks
- a few snack breads, purchased from the school store
- an assortment of pills, which have various healing properties in the Metaverse but in the real world are mostly pain relievers, fever reducers, muscle relaxers, etc
- a very realistic looking model dagger
- a very realistic looking model handgun
- a uniform he wears when he works at the convenience store
He also has his smartphone.
Gembond: Amethyst
Gem Location: The back of his right hand.

Notes: I'm including a wiki link to the list of P5R personas which includes all the ones I've listed above, in case you'd like to look at any of them. I've tried to tweak the descriptions of their abilities to be more descriptive of how they'd be used in journal rp.
