[He's a Bat, let him live his lying life!! AKIRA.]
I should hope so. It's clearly not doing anything to assist itself. [It sounds like a joke, but Damian doesn't laugh or even smile, so... he's probably serious.] Is there anything else beneficial you can tell me in regards to this place or any of the people here you know?
[Akira isn't totally sure he understands why there would be an alternate universe where this puppet is possessed, but he's also seen enough strange things to not question it. There are so many people here from alternate versions of Tokyo alone that he wouldn't be surprised if there was a universe where the ramen bowl Ryuji gave him is possessed.]
Is there any way you can tell?
[Some kind of magic spell or psychic reading or something.]
[A gut instinct is the best way to describe it. But he does nod in answer.]
Awhile back, all the houses that had people living in them gained color. [A pause, and he adds:] All the brick in Ruga has color again, so it doesn't work so well there. But here, that's what it means.
They’re kind of funny sometimes though. [Watching them try so hard, even as it was clear they knew she was never going to reply to any of their emails.]
Hah. Yeah. I guess Boss made this place pretty inviting...
[And he means that. Sojiro probably wouldn't want to admit it, but he did a good job with making this place a cozy spot. He knows he likes being here, and he's not the only one.]
One of my friends said once... that this was a place where he could be himself. I think that's true for everyone.
Some people never find a place like that. You're all lucky to have it.
[ There's certainly more than luck that goes into it, and he knows that well - it's also a testament to the people there and what they mean to each other, and that's all about what they put into it.
But...having the opportunity to build something like that at all. That doesn't just happen every day, and it's something Joshua will never take for granted. ]
[It's still incredible to him that he was able to find a home after everything that happened, that he found a group of people who truly became his family. It's the best thing he could have wished for.
And he thinks now he wants to bring a little of that magic to Chroma, however he can.
But for now...]
I said I would make you something, though. [He goes behind the counter, grabbing his apron from its normal hook.] Is curry okay?
This is just speculation on my part, but it's possible that these pocket realities are created from our memories, and they're fuzzy in places we cannot recall very well. Most people don't memorize entire books verbatim, so the text is at least partially illegible.
[Now that Ryo mentions it, he noticed something similar when he tried to play video games earlier. The first few levels he's played a million times were pretty well defined, but after that...]
That's too bad, though. [Books would have been a good thing to get.]

Do you know whose horse she is?

She's not mine.
[ If anything, she belonged to Cross since he owned the school. ]

[Equestrian classes, huh? Fancy.]
Either way, she needs a place to stay.
[Hence why they're on their way!]

I see. You might be right...
[After all, he doesn't know this kid's circumstances at all. His home being safe is a good thing.]
This place isn't so bad, though... usually.

[HE'S SUCH A BAT!!]
It's good to be prepared, even if the majority of the time here isn't bad. And that doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to find a way to leave.
no subject
So far, we haven't made much progress there.
[A shrug.]
The town seems to want us to restore the color.

I have one way of checking, but it's risky. It could set whatever might be in Cal loose.
[ which could potentially be a lot worse than having it contained to a puppet. ]

[The just fended off a shadow infestation, they don't need doll ghosts running around, too.
On the other hand, he thinks he could probably handle whatever pops out. But it would cost exposing his powers...]

[ like desperate times may call for desperate measures, but this isn't a desperate time.
not yet anyway. ]
But I don't know what else I can do to check.

Do you want any help?

Guess that's a good thing.

I wonder why that is...
